A huge part of my work role is customer support and I have to say that we really cannot fault any aspect of the trip. That includes the support from all at Artisan Travel and partners right from my first enquiry over a year before departure, to after arriving home and the support trying to locate the item which was removed from my suitcase at Ivalo.

Read more not in a safari cabin – we were happy to have a double room rather than shared accommodation. The hotel was friendly and comfortable with a good choice and quality of food. Hanski, our guide for the 5-day husky safari, was excellent. The wilderness cabins were as described and in good locations. The food was very good local produce and there was plenty of it. We used most of the equipment provided and it was of good quality. Overall it was an excellent trip and if Artisan Travel were offering a holiday that suited our needs we would book with you again.

We were well looked after by our guide who helped us to learn how to drive the sledges and look after the dogs. The scenery was lovely. The sledge riding was not too technical or challenging. At the end of each day there were camp chores to be done which were quite part of the experience of living in the wilderness. We found these highly enjoyable. Read more every day cares. The food was much better than we expected. It was good hearty food although not overly fancy. The saunas were good and hot. This is a wilderness trip so the accommodation was quite basic with outdoor drop toilets so you need to be prepared for this.

My friend Helen and I recently got back from Alaska where we saw the Iditarod, the Northern Lights and much more. I just wanted to say a massive thank you for all the help you gave while we were planning our dream trip that we thought would be once-in-a-lifetime but after seeing it we both know in our hearts we will going back again. Thank You All!!

Read more day. The equipment was excellent and at no time were we cold although temperatures fluctuated from 0 to minus 23 degrees C. We were also treated to some beautiful Aurora displays that made the trip even more special. I highly recommend this trip for anyone who likes a little adventure on their holiday!

Overall we have had a brilliant week. It was all we hoped it would be and more! For me the food was lovely but my husband is not a great fish lover, so the choice was more limited for him, although he did eat it and enjoy it! Our most enjoyable activity is a toss-up between the husky sledge ride and the snowmobiles. These were the two reasons I booked this holiday and both came up to expectations.…
Read more Neither were just a quick ride so you felt you had time to get to grips with steering etc. The scenery was stunning! Seeing the Northern Lights was the icing on the cake. We booked this holiday a year ago, and after looking forward to it for so long, the worry was it would not come up to expectations, but it was brilliant.

We had a wonderful time that went too quickly. The cabin was well equipped and very cosy. If you like an evening tipple or a hot drink at night time I would advise you take something with you - very expensive and you cannot buy to take back to the cabin any alcoholic beverages. Very strict on the age limit of 18 for activities and getting an alcoholic drink so my boy of 17 was a little fed up…
Read more about not getting on the snowmobiles despite having a driving license and not being allowed a beer. We did the reindeer sledge, husky day and snowmobiles - all brilliant fun and great staff. All very helpful and happy in their work. Get those layers on though as you are outside for long stretches of time. If you are a passenger on the snowmobiles and husky day you will be very, VERY cold so try and get 1:1, not 2:1 in your bookings. For the husky day, we did a BBQ on the frozen lakeside in the snow blizzard! If you have ski goggles pack them as you cannot hire them. The hired snow clothes and boots were all good condition. The food at the hotel was very limited in choice but was all tasty and healthy with good service. .The hotel staff and taxi men to the trips were very helpful at all times. We had a long stop at Helsinki Airport and whilst there is a selection of eating places and shops it was all very, very expensive e.g. £10 for a sandwich. The BA flight M&S food and drinks actually on the plane was better value! Saving up to go again - we loved the place and the people. Melanie and Jonny

Warn people to keep their cameras/mobiles warm, as many of us had fully charged cameras in outside pockets have full batteries drain within an hour of arrival. Keep them tucked inside inner layers to stop this happening.

Loved the location, activities well organised and great fun. Small group feel which added to the holiday. The husky ride has to be the most exhilarating. But the choice of activities was good. None of the activities were rushed it was good to spend 2 or more hours at each. Thank you, it was all that we imagined and more!
