Ruka

Ruka is one of the largest ski resorts in Finland and boasts some fantastic facilities. It has so much more to offer beyond the ski slopes though and we love the fact that we are able to offer our guests our Ruka – Tailor Made holiday so that they can pick and chose how to spend their time.

The beautifully and brightly decorated Vanha Karhu Apartments (meaning ‘old bear’ in Finnish) are the base for our guests. After a day in The Great Outdoors, it is blissful to return to your own private sauna so you can relax and unwind. The apartments are situated a short shuttle bus away from Ruka’s centre and ski slopes but are just a few minutes’ walk from the activity starting point so you get the best of all worlds. Aside from the obvious option of downhill skiing, there is a wealth of active opportunities to choose from here. Some of our personal favourites include the snowshoe walk in Oulanka National Park, snowmobiling to the Russian border and buggy rallying; all unique to Ruka. 

There are also reindeer encounters to be enjoyed as well as dog sleddingog sledding of varying lengths for those who would like an unforgettable adventure.
