Self-drive holidays in Iceland with Artisan Travel
We offer two self-drive trips to Iceland. The first is our week-long Wild and Wonderful West holiday in the breath-taking Snæfellsnes Peninsula, known as 'Iceland in miniature'. A drive in this region encompasses the key highlights of Iceland – an array of natural wonders from volcanoes to glaciers.
Whilst here, you can set your own agenda for exploring. Perhaps you want to drive along the coastal route or maybe you want to leave the car and hike instead, the choice is yours.
As you drive along the peninsula, the summer sun means you can appreciate all of the wildlife that can be seen at this time of year including over 350 species of bird, such as puffins, harlequin ducks and guillemots.
You’ll also see brilliant natural wonders such as the Snæfellsjökull Volcano which lies beneath the marvellous glacier of the same name.
On our Exceptional Iceland holiday, you will drive to some of Iceland’s most famed and beautiful spots. These include the chance to enjoy the Golden Circle in the endless summer sunlight as well as the inviting water of the Blue Lagoon which can be visited in the evening as you enjoy the late sunset.
Our holidays are all expertly crafted to ensure you get the most of a location and a self-drive holiday allows you to do this at your own pace.
